Our Current Project

Some of you have already seen these photos, but this is Sam's current project on our house. Off of our master bedroom, there is a useless little area which I guess you'd call a sitting area. Off of that were two small closets and the sort of small master bathroom. What we're doing is enclosing that sitting area to be a large walk-in closet, and making the bathroom bigger while totally remodeling it. Here's the rough plan (you may have to click to enlarge it to be able to read it):

And here's a before and during photo of looking back toward the new bathroom door.

And of course a cute photo of my boys.

The drywall is up now, and as soon as I take some photos, I'll post an update.

NUTS

I was making funny faces at Kevin this morning, which was making him laugh really hard. Every time I'd stop, he'd ask me to make more faces, which would make him laugh even harder.

After a few minutes of this he smiles up at me and says, "Making Kevin NUTS, Mama!"

Sick, sick and more sick

All three of us have been sick for a week now. Kevin started it off with just a run of the mill cold. Since then, we've all had fevers, stuffy noses, coughs and have generally felt horrible. Sam had to take two days off work, he was so sick. And as of today, Kevin has pink eye. Hooray! We've been holed up in the house not getting anything done, but trying not to infect anyone else either.

Once funny thing to share. Kevin for some reason has recently been confusing the word "freckles" with the word "nipples." For example, he'll point to the freckles on my arms and exclaim "NIPPLES mama!" Pretty funny, but it cold be embarrassing in public. Then last night, I had a chicken sandwich from Chili's. Kevin got very excited, pointing at my sandwich saying, "look mama, nipples, nipples." Took us a while to figure it out, but it turns out he was saying that the bun had "freckles" because it had sesame seeds on it. He continues to call them nipples, and at lunch today he was picking the nipples off of his McDonald's cheeseburger and eating them. I'm scared to think what his preschool teacher is going to think we've been teaching him...

Down by the sea

We got back on Tuesday from a 3 day trip to the beach in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This was Kevin's first trip to the beach that he can remember, and he loved it. Rehoboth is a cute little town with a downtown street full of nice shops and restaurants and a boardwalk along the beach with candy, funnel cakes, carnival games and rides. We all had a great time!

Here's a few photos of him playing on the beach...

He decided to make friends with some random ladies and laid with them for a while. They thought he was a big flirt.

Playing in the water with Daddy.

And me relaxing...

Kevin won a pony playing the horse race game on the boardwalk. He was only playing against me and technically I won, but he loved getting the prize!

They had a ton of rides that were just the right size for Kevin...

We had so much fun, we've decided to go back next summer.
